Genuinely saying thank you will go a long way but if you're looking for ideas on how to show appreciation to your nanny, then look no further!
Great times to think about gift giving:

When the job is coming to an end

1 - Thank you note with flowers or an edible fruit arrangement:
Simple and classic but means so much to someone who may need a reminder that they're still doing a great job.
2 - For the coffee and tea loving Nannies:
A beautiful or funny mug and a gift card to a local or favorite coffee/tea shop. We are often running the kids to school, play dates and activities, or running errands while the children are at school so a travel mug is always a great option.
3 - If you live in colder climates or plan to travel with your nanny:
Weather appropriate gear is helpful so nannies won't injure themselves while working or get sick. Winter boots, jackets, and gloves, as well as rain gear, are wonderful gifts.
4 - Pamper your nanny:
Caregivers are often the last to care for themselves. Making sure your nanny is happy, well rested and recharged will do so much for your nanny and family. Massages and pedicures are always nice. Maybe you've heard your nanny mention wanting to try a yoga, pilates, personal trainer, or gym class - encourage her by getting a gift card. If you're a member at a gym or club, perhaps she'd be interested in a membership.
5 - Handmade gifts from your kids:
A fun drawing put on a mug, shirt or necklace
A family or school shirt so she feels included
A craft the child made for the nanny
A time-capsule nanny jar - for times when the kids have a fun, sweet memory they spent with their nanny to save and give to her at a later date.
A beautiful note from the kids when the nanny's position is coming to a close.
6 - What is your nanny interested in? Pay for her to do a neat class in something she's interested in and maybe even give her two tickets so she can bring a friend or significant other. Cooking classes, learning to stand up paddle board, a pottery course, archery lessons, a paint night class, or movie tickets. We are all unique and love different things, but showing that you listen and care means a world to us.
7 - Make her part of the family:
Did everyone get matching holiday pajamas? Matching mugs? Some silly matching socks? Help your nanny to feel connected and like she's part of the family by including her.
8 - Travel and adventure:
Some nannies enjoy spending their off-time traveling; experiencing new adventures and learning about other cultures. Using your miles or paying for your nanny to fly home over the holidays or go on an adventure for her time off is a lovely gift. Perhaps it's gifting her an excursion while she's working for your family on a trip or maybe she enjoys hiking or white water rafting and would enjoy a guided trail adventure in an area she's never been.
9 - Something nanny related:
A yearly membership to the International Nanny Association (INA) - great resources and benefits for nannies.
The Nanny Box - including fun things nannies might enjoy.
A subscription to the Nanny Magazine to keep her updated.
A conference or training she's been eyeing for a while. The INA Conference and Nannypalooza are just two of the big annual conferences held each year in the U.S. but there are also other in the U.S. and in other countries.
10 - Maybe you're not the gift-giving type:
Cash and extra PTO (Paid time off) are always much appreciated. We know you're busy individuals, we wouldn't be working for you otherwise... so showing an occasional reminder that you notice our effort means a lot.
